Description:
The Good, The Bad, and the Music is a laugh-out-loud, Wild West–themed family concert where a would-be “Best Conductor in the West” bandit storms the stage and tries to take over the orchestra. With help from the Sheriff of Musical Harmony—and plenty of audience participation—the chaos turns into an action-packed musical adventure that teaches kids what conductors actually do: keep the beat, study the music, and help the orchestra play together.
Part of Boulder Symphony’s Curiosity Concerts, this performance is specially designed for families with children ages 2–10. These concerts are interactive, playful, and welcoming—encouraging kids to sing, move, and engage with live orchestral music in a relaxed, joyful environment.
Featuring iconic cowboy themes and surprise favorites including The Magnificent Seven, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, William Tell Overture, Hoe-Down (Copland), Maple Leaf Rag, Indiana Jones, and the original sing-along “Cowboys Ride.”
Devin Patrick Hughes, conductor
Joana Ceja, Phyllis Swineslapper & AKA the Sheriff
John Boggs, Filbert Swineslapper, AKA the Bandit
