MHFA teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training provides the skills needed to initially support someone who may be experiencing a crisis or developing a mental health or substance use problem. MHFA takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan to safely identify and address potential disorders.

Due to funding restrictions, these cost covered trainings are limited to those working and/or living in Boulder County. Other interested participants are encourage to check out additional trainings at https://www.mhpcolorado.org/training/

By the end of 2021, six, 8-hour in-person extensive MHFA training and three, 90-minute online abbreviated MHFA trainings will be offered across the region, with Spanish language training options as well.
